The Poems in our pockets

Poems from Grace Neighborhood Nursery School, April 2016
Claire’s Afternoon Class

Where we could put a poem

We could put them on a dinosaur,

Or in our pockets.

We could give them to time, sometime.

We could put them in the post office.

We could give them to a ghost.

We could put them in a box.

We could put them in a bag.

We could put them on a puzzle piece,

In an envelope, with a stamp.

We could bring them to people

Like Waylon’s sister and teacher Claire.

And we could write a poem to our toys.

We could put a poem by a cow

Or in the newspaper.

We could play with them

In the gym.

We could put them on somebody’s couch

As a big surprise.

On a door or on a roof and the wind

Could blow

Them down.
