Poem in Your Pocket Day

Its April, and that means National Poetry Month and that means too, one of my favorite days of the year is just around the corner–Poem in Your Pocket Day.  This year at Grace Neighborhood Nursery School we will be heading out April 24, 25 and 26th to hand out our poems. We are busy writing and illustrating our poetry and so excited for the poetry walk.   And like Flynn, we are feeling full of love of words and writing.

This poem was written by LaSandra’s class.  It will become the shape of a microphone.

Making Music
By LaSandra’s Class

Karl plays the cymbals.
Mira plays the drums.
Adeline is on triangle,
Magnus sings so quietly.
Patrycja is a little girl kitty,
meowing.
Marni is a little girl kitty
meowing too.
Adam has the microphone
and sings Cheers
So loud the lights go out!
